Fort Wayne, IN – The Olin B. and Desta Schwab Foundation announced today that $290,000 in grants have been awarded to organizations that help northeast Indiana students build their 21st century job skills and choose careers. The mission of the Foundation is to identify and support organizations that have programs for teaching 21st century job skills and for counseling, testing, guiding, and educating young people in the careers, occupations or professions to which they are best suited. Awards granted:
- Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce & Allen County Schools Consortium - $78,000
- Junior Achievement of NE Indiana - $35,000
- Fort Wayne Community Schools, Homestead High School, and Huntington North High School for Envictus Navigation 101 Program - $100,000
- Talent Initiative - $57,000
- Student sponsorships for Air Force Association’s CyberPatriot National High School Competition and Disney’s Dreamers Academy National High School Essay Competition - $20,000
“The Foundation is excited to be able to grant these awards to deserving organizations that will help further the dream of Olin B. Schwab who believed that no person should be deprived of an opportunity to recognize and realize his or her talents and right career path, which is becoming more difficult in our quickly changing global economic and employment environment,” said Jim Johnston, Olin B. and Desta Schwab Foundation board president.
The Foundation also announced that it has named Jerrilee Mosier to the Foundation Board of Directors. Ms. Mosier is Chancellor, Ivy Tech Community College – Northeast Indiana and has over 30 years in educational leadership roles. Prior to joining Ivy Tech in 2010, she spent 12 years as Vice President, Workforce Development and Training for Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood, Washington, where she served as administrator for all workforce development programs for the college, as well as providing oversight for their Professional-Technical Career Programs. From 1992 to 1998, she was Vice Provost of Academic Affairs at Oklahoma State University. She received a doctorate in higher education administration from Oklahoma State University.
In each community where she lived, Jerrilee served on numerous committees and boards of directors related to education and workforce development.

he Foundation also announced that longtime Board member, Dolores (Dee) Klocke, has accepted a Board position of Director Emeritus. “Given her long affiliation with Olin B. Schwab and the Foundation, Dee maintains a wealth of knowledge and history of the Foundation. We are very pleased that Dee has accepted this position and that we won’t lose that knowledge or her passion for the Foundation,” said Mr. Johnston. “We also look forward to having Jerrillee join our Board. With her extensive educational and leadership experience, we know her skills will be a huge benefit to the Foundation.”
